Psychotherapy in South Manchester
Looking for a therapist in South Manchester?
If you are reading this, you are probably considering psychotherapy or counselling. Maybe you know what it is that is troubling you, or maybe it is hard to put your finger on it, but you just know that you want to feel happier and more at peace with yourself.
Getting in touch with a psychotherapist or counsellor for the first time can be a difficult step, and it makes sense to do your research first. In these pages my aim is to give you some basic information about myself and the way I work, but there is no substitute for personal contact, so you are welcome to phone me for an initial discussion.
We will start from where you are, wherever that is. I will listen carefully to you, and on that foundation we will build a unique working relationship which will help you to hear yourself more clearly, get to know yourself better, and work towards a more authentic and integrated way of being in the world.
It will usually be helpful to explore past history and patterns of relating, as I believe that our early experience colours our experience and expectations of current relationships and situations in ways that we are often not fully aware of.
In our first meeting we will begin to discuss what has led you to seek psychotherapy and identify the issues you would like to work on. We will also establish whether we feel comfortable about working together. This process may take more than one session. We will agree a regular time to meet, usually weekly to begin with.
I also work with couples. I work at Hampden House Psychotherapy Centre, 2 Palatine Rd, Withington M20 3JA, and online
Current charges at Hampden House are £75 for a 50 - minute session.
For online sessions I charge £55, and depending on your circumstances a reduction may be possible.
